Vaping Cessation (8 of 10)

What if your parent vapes?

We realize that some of you may live in homes where a parent, guardian, or older sibling vapes. Quitting is something you can do together.

Start by sharing your reasons for quitting with your family member, and let them know that it’s important to you that they quit as well. Your family member may not know how important it is to you that they quit vaping, so tell them honestly. Chances are you’re more important to them than vaping.

Keep in mind that stress is a major factor in why people slip up when quitting vaping, so try to alleviate potential stress points for your parents, if you can, while they quit. Do some chores around the house, run errands, or offer to cook meals. This will keep you busy also, and help with your own quitting process.

If your parent, guardian, or older sibling does not want to quit, don’t let that get in the way of your motivation and commitment to yourself to improve the quality of your life. Maybe they will see you quit, and you will be the motivation they need to quit as well.
