BRITE World

A 3D virtual space to learn, explore and compete via AVATARS! 

BRITE is an amazing virtual environment featuring our interactive prevention and learning content in fun and engaging ways.  We have many different scenes hosting various types of activities and challenges to be participated in via avatars.

School classes or other groups can participate in scenes together, competing in teams and/or individually, collecting BRITE World points as they interact with learning content and tackle a variety of quizzes, puzzles and activities.

Individuals can access BRITE World scenes and have their learning activities tracked for teachers, counselors or parents.

BRITE World scenes and activities can now be accessed easily via a browser on PC and Mac computers. 

Tablets, mobile phones, as well as PC and Mac computers can access BRITE World scenes using a downloadable app.

Some BRITE World scenes require a paid individual, family or school account.  Ask about VCBH sponsored accounts for Ventura County Schools.

From your PC or Mac computer you can check out the 3-D version of our website (using a free guest account) to get an example of the immersive web, while learning more about BRITE programs and prevention efforts in Ventura County.

Prevention Education Activities

BRITE World includes many scenes that provide opportunities to learn important information through games, challenges, scavenger hunts, mazes, and scenarios. We can facilitate homework projects or host class "field trips" via an avatar.

BRITE ISLAND

Explore our island and collect BRITE World points! Search for over 50 animals with prevention quizzes & puzzles for you. Click on fire-pits with writing prompts for social-emotional learning.

LABORATORY

Taking a scientific approach, our lab has fun activities to learn about brain chemistry, mental health and to research facts about vaping, marijuana, tobacco, alcohol, opioids and other drugs.  

PIRATE SHIP

Come aboard if you dare! Find hidden treasure chests, catch spiders, try out dance moves, visit the graveyard, and knock on the doors of consequences while collecting BRITE World points in this fun scene.

OVERDOSE PREVENTION ARCADE

8 interactive kiosks address overdose risks and prevention. They feature fentanyl, Rx drugs, naloxone, and other resources related to the current crisis of addiction and overdose.

SCI-FI FESTIVAL

Choose-your-own-adventure style learning through narrative decision-making role play provides opportunities for fact gathering, forward-thinking, and reflection.

SCAVENGER HUNT

This fun challenge spans across many BRITE World scenes and will probably take multiple visits to complete while learning and collecting BRITE World points for prizes.

Youth Wellness Center

This scene hosts both indoor and outdoor spaces for individuals to visit or for small groups to meet.  It features mental health resources to be viewed or interacted with or downloaded.  Youth participants can request sessions with peer mentors via avatar from within this scene.  Private and customizable wellness centers and mentor spaces are available.  Watch for community wellness events and resource fairs to be scheduled here.

Teen Center style games, hang-out spaces, and events

BRITE World features many scenes for connecting and communicating with peers.  There is a board game room with chess, Connect 4 and Reversi, a lounge, and places to build with Minecraft style bricks.
